The Family Manuscript Collection makes accessible more than three hundred years [1700 – 2006] of Citizen Potawatomi culture and history. Researched, compiled and donated by tribal members over a forty year period, the collection contains over 30,000 documents that include: federal allotment and census records, legal files, correspondence, genealogical material, family histories and biographies. The records have been categorized by tribal family and their respective members

Content within the Family Manuscript Collection should be considered subjective. The collections are maintained with all of the content as they were donated and are not edited by the CHC staff. The collection is intended to be a reference tool for those conducting tribal, family and genealogical research.
